Jena Six

After reading the article, Lousina Protest Echoes the Civil Rights Era, many thoughts popped into my mind. One of them was how something that happened so long ago can be happening once more? Don't we learn from the past? Lot of people think that racism is over, but thats far from true. In the Jena Six story it talks about how six black students are being prosecuted for beating a white student. Surely this seems wrong until you know that the white students were hanging nooses from an oak tree that they felt was just for white students. Racial conflicts like this happen all the time. I feel that this incident is similar to the Little Rock 9 since in both incident, black students were been treated unequally and constantly persecuted, just because of their skin color.
